About Me
Sonal Batra is a director driven by purpose: to inspire change, amplify underrepresented voices, and spread joy through unforgettable storytelling. With a strong command of emotion, visuals, and music, she crafts narratives that linger—whether they're heartfelt, quirky, humorous, or visually grand.
She started out as a producer and editor, quickly taking the reins of direction to bring her unique vision to life. Her work spans advertising, short films, and long-format storytelling, all rooted in one core principle: authenticity.

Her award-winning film for Axis Bank – “Pause the Bargain” earned two Abbys and a Gold at Spikes Asia 2022. She also directed Byju’s Gandhi Jayanti tribute featuring veteran actor Manoj Kumar, which won Gold at the MoM Awards. In 2024, she was named one of India’s Next Top 10 Directors by Manifest Magazine, where her Future Generali Pride Day film was showcased. More recently, her film for Uber India – “Safety Never Stops” was awarded two Baby Elephants at Kyoorius.

Sonal is passionate about redefining the boundaries of traditional visual storytelling. She actively seeks out scripts that allow her to craft emotionally resonant characters and narratives that leave a lasting impact. Whether it’s using music as a narrative thread or designing stylized visuals that linger in the viewer’s mind, Sonal is always exploring inventive ways create work that stands out.

When she’s not bringing stories to life, you’ll find her browsing furniture, playing tennis, or rescuing her over-watered plants.
